Erythema Dyschromicum Perstans

Retrospectively and prospectively eight cases of erythema dyschromicum perstants with various
clinical implications and histological signs are described in patients undergoing examination and
treatment in the Dermatovenereology Department of the Leningrad regional center of specialized
medical care for the period 2010–2017 years.
The literature for recent years, including the world consensus for 2018, was analyzed. The change of
clinical and pathomorphological picture of the disease depending on the stage of the pathological
process is presented. The modern versions of pathogenesis are given, the symptoms of the examined
patients are compared with the literature data. An interesting fact is the lack of eff ect of external
therapy with "very strong" topical glucocorticoid in combination with topical isotretinoin and
dermatotropic antiseptic. It was also not possible to identify trigger factors of persistent dyschromic
erythema in the examined patients. The results of this work showed that persistent erythema
dyschromia may be a separate nosological unit. The article emphasizes the need for further study of
persistent dyschromic erythema.
